Wow, this was among the first pony videos I ever watched. Coming back to it, it's surprising to see how well cut it is. That, and the scene choice is EXCELLENT, especially considering you only had season 1 to work with.
Seriously, those record scratches fit perfectly with the editing. Wow. I did not expect this to be as amazing as I remembered, but it's pretty dang good, even by today's standards.

@reddomini0n It's a PMV, that's what these consist of. They chop parts of episodes and put them together to create a musical video. The point is that it's creative recycling. Just like the song. Or do you not know the song has no original elements and is made up entirely of other people's music?
A lot of work obviously went into this video. Not only is the timing excellent, the imagery matches up with what is going on with the song, but the video also has a plot, something which neither the song nor its original music video had. If you aren't going to appreciate the effort put on it, you didn't need to post this comment. Nothing got ruined. You can always listen to the song a hundred times more and pretend this video never happened.

It's about exactly what you'd expect - a psychiatrist in the old west. As for what they intended it to mean here, it's anyone's guess - it appears they just compressed a bunch of spoken-word records into a stream-of-consciousness designed to humorously convey "insanity".
'Frontier Psychiatrist' is implied to be a man they send crazy or otherwise quirky people to. If he doesn't think they can be 'cured' of their insanity, he shoots them dead.

This is one of the best MLP FiM fan vids I've seen yet. One would not think of Applejack as a psycho, but it's always the quiet ones. But the video was very well done and the synching of film clips with the music was really great.

Totally agree on that. I'm aware of that MLP is a cartoon for kids but watch it course it's a very good show. Becurse, it is. The message "Friendship" is very clear and I do think it's needed. There are far to much hate in the world today. What I also like aboute the show is the fan arts, the fanmusic and the high quality of the show itself.
Because it's this unique one-of-a-kind case. People are more likely to get heavily invested in the fandom because of the way people get introduced to it, the quality is far higher than most other cartoons like it, it has characters that one can relate to, and it's a thing that spreads quickly; it's memetic. Does it make sense if you don't think of it as a girl's cartoon?
Remember, not all people who watch it are adult men, and I'm pretty sure the majority of the fandom is made out of teens.
I'm no psychologist, and I fall into the young adult group of the fandom, so I wouldn't know to be frank with you. I'll ask you though: does this need to have an explanation? From a curiosity standpoint, I would love to understand why the show is so appealing to adult males, but I don't think it's something that should be interfered with as long as good things are coming from it.
I strongly disagree with you that adult men were as obsessed with the power puff girls as one can compare the pony show. I have no issue with little boys liking any cartoon, cartoons are designed to appeal to children whether targeted to girls or boys. They are designed to appeal to a developing mind and a more simple one. A child if you will, but Again I put my question forward; why do adult men find this pony cartoon so interesting?
But when the Power Puff Girls craze came along, and boys wore PPG backpacks to school, and had PPG folders, nobody gave a damn. I guess society doesn't make sense then? But does it really matter if it makes sense? Not if good things are being made from it, which there are!

Awesome job. The syncing in this is godly and shows some key traits in what is a good AMV. I should say PMV, but I honestly think this compares with some top tier AMVs showing effort beyond just syncing the speak, but also picking appropriate scenes and even modifying it to work alongside the song in every scene.
