Her family wants to hide the fact that they were dating at some point (something that both Kim before retracting it and police acknowledged) and still intimate even when their relationship downgraded to a fwb for Bianca and something painfully uncertain to Brandon. Which is entirely reasonable for him to be confused about since she would date all these different guys at the same time and intentionally mess with their heads for fun. The point in the omission is to remove all accountability from Bianca and twist everything malicious she did.
