Her parents are extremely mentally ill people. I think once you grow up you basically end up parenting your own parents when they’re that far gone. It makes sense she’s come around to them at her current age. I’d bet they’re still fucked in the head but she’s making the best out of it. I don’t see why a gift or looking back on memories would mean much.
