Here we are philosophizing about the Ash even after all these years It's the age old question, are our beliefs inborn or are our beliefs learned. You say that non-devout Catholics tend to be very liberal yet the Ash was/is far from liberal. Matter of fact some of her views were even more to the right than Genghis Khan, something my brother once said about me, LOL.

She did mock her mom even when she was out of character(s) Was she rebelling or just didn't hold her mom in high regard? She never said anything bad about her dad.

Yes she said that she didn't want to marry because she was afraid of divorce and looked upon marriage as a commitment. Was that because she witnessed her mom's two divorces and third marriage?

I prefer to accept her characters such as Taz, Vegan Cathy or the Jew entering the gas chamber etc on the first level as just plain fun. But if anyone wants to take it to the second level and believe that she's mocking her mom and or friends then you're more than welcome to. It's just an opinion that anyone is entitled to.

I said this before and it bares repeating. The Ash has a very unique mind. She's an enigma, a mystery wrapped in a riddle.
