I might be wrong, but I think it is Viet Basa is similar to Carp but different speicies. I believe from what I read it can be classified as the same:> They are often labelled in North America and Australia as "basa fish", "swai", or "bocourti". I know it often cooked with fragrant herbs and spices, which is probably why to overcome that taste.
