Yeah, the more I read about it, the more that guy sounds like a gigantic retard. The stories from people who either bailed on the trips at the last minute or went through with it are amazing:
- using zip ties to fix things to the outside when they broke
- constant comms and electrical failures
- using painters scaffolding structurally on the outside
He even got some letter a few years ago from the regulatory body that overseas maratime exploration saying his sub was a disaster waiting to happen.
