First they take away the guns. Then they'll take away sharp knives. Eventually they'll come for the toothpicks as well. Best thing is not to let them take anything in the first place. Unfortunately it looks like they have a loophole: let crime get out of control, wait until robbers take you personal property, and THEN have it confiscated.

A big gun safe that can be mounted to the wall or ground is a good investment these days ;)
