Some non-verbal autists aren't taught sign or writing, because their would parents would rather speak for them. They fail to realize their child will grow up to be a adult still relying his parent to communicate needs. Unless Carmen puts her foot down, she's going to live the rest of her life caring for a non-functioning autist.

My mother managed to teach basic arithmetic at age 2-3, even i though i didn't manage to speak till i was 4. Give Jordan a meaningfully outlet and keep him off the internet. I assume Carmen is a native Spanish speaker, why not make him learn Spanish, it whould a good outlet that could possibly even help with get a job.
