I am willing to admit that the Americans are right on the subject of pants, the way Brits use 'pants' to refer to UNDERpants is obviously wrong. However, that date format is just utter nonsense.
Day/Month/Year is ascending units of time, already makes more sense.
ISO whatever number it is standard of Year/Month/Day is decending and also fits in alongside the time format of Hour/Minute/Second.
Month/Day/Year is just throwing categories in a heap.
