People like and follow what big celebrities do and say (including actors, musicians, athletes, pornstars, influencers/streamers,...). They are a row model for a lot teenagers. Some of them have more influence in society than politicians.
Because we aren't famous enough, people don't dream enough of becoming gods/goddesses, like we do. People dream of becoming just beyond an average human (mediocre beings).
