Hey, Lord, you delivered Daniel from the bottom of the lion's den.
You delivered Jonah from the belly of the whale and then the Hebrew children from the fiery furnace so the good books do declare.

Hey, Lord, if you can't help me for goodness sake don't help that bear.

What options do you suggest other than a tazer then? Because tazers do not successfully neutralize them all the time. "Unless the guy is pointing a gun at you," people can pose a threat with their bare hands, and could easily be concealing a weapon. If someone comes charging at officer, even if they do not seem to have a weapon on hand, the officer is completely justified in shooting them.

No they're not. The founder of the proud boys is also not the head of the organization anymore and doesn't represent the organization. That is my point.
I mean, I was wrong, I am not trying to contradict you on that part.

I did say that if the tazer doesn't work, then using a gun might be the only option, right? Also what korea anon said. THere needs to be significantly more training in de-esceleation and not letting a situation get to the point where someone needs to be tazed or shot.

This could include employing people who specialize in dealing with mental illness or drug abuse, and not expecting a single police officer to be able to handle every single one of the vast array of situations that are thrown at them currently

>>54940
It really should be.

>>54941
I have very specifically not said that, but somehow we have a significantly higher rate of officer-involved deaths than any other first world country. That is due to less-than-optimal training when it comes to de-escalation and our entire country's lack of mental health infrastructure that leads police to be forced into a wide enough array of situations that it is tough to train for every single one.

One argument in that controversy is that we do not train our police well enough when it comes to de-escalation. Another, often brought up at the same time, is that our mental health infrastructure is absolute shit here, along with help for the impoverished, so the police in the US are often put into situations that would be handled by a mental health worker, or something similar, who is specifically trained to handle that situation instead of someone whose primary function is to deal with every single kind of situation (blue collar) where a law is being infringed.

Yes, they are different. And in this specific case, Gavin McInnes may no longer be the leader of the Proud Boys but he is still involved with them and essentially the face of their whole group.
De-escalation won't help with someone who's already getting violent, and there are many situations where there is no time for such things without putting the officers in danger. 9/10 times police are justified because there was a present threat when they shoot.
>somehow we have a significantly higher rate of officer-involved deaths than any other first world country.

It is, yes. There are reasons other than race that we have a crime/police killing rate an order of magnitude higher than most of europe. I mean, walk around a city. There are raving crazed druggies roaming the streets, and most of them are white, even here in Albuquerque. Just using Albuquerque as an example, stabbings are the most common form of deadly violence here because the mentally ill and drugged zombies can't afford guns and just stab each other. In most European countries there are actually programs to get these people off the streets, even if that is into asylums.

I don't actually know if the people who specialize in those events are employed in the police or healthcare system, but employing a couple of those in every department seems to me like a solution that would actually make sense without having to completely overhaul our medical system (which I do think needs to happen) while taking a lot of the bourdon off regular police officers.

I don't fuckin' know, that's a really complicated issue.
Blacks do commit more crimes, leading them to more police interaction, and their culture essentially instilling fear into young blacks that the police are just out to blow their brains out cause them to get into more violent altercations with police.
If that's due to race, economic status, or whatever, I don't fucking care. Why should I blindly trust or not judge someone who belongs to that group, regardless of the reason?

You shouldn't blindly trust someone, that is not what I am saying.

I tend to be very wary of impoverished people when I am around them, and in places that means many black people. The important part is that you have a that kind of nuanced view. There are many, many people who don't have that kind of nuanced view and chock it up to to race, genetic differences. Like Weeb has been doing. Or Otakuanon. Or Tuschi, but I think Tuschi is just a big troll and doesn't believe half the shit he says.

If you think the solution is not to decrease the number of brown people and instead make the conditions better for the groups that those black people happen to be in, regardless of race, then good on you, we agree.

The biggest problem with what you said about evangelicals is that they are allowed to be racist/etc. One of the core beliefs of Christianity is that all people are sinners, and you can't avoid sin. You just have to make sure you go to confession regularly. Many people don't take it to the extent that they can constantly sin, but it also means that they don't have to completely abide by the rules.

They clearly got the word out to begin with because it made bank on launch, but after playing it for a few days everyone realized its a steaming pile of shit with absolutely nothing to do once you reach AR30 and clear the available story, so of course they're having problems with player retention.

I mean, I'm currently AR12 and there's still heaps of missions to grind through.
But, it has the failings of all RPGs in that the grind to endgame gear means just that- endgame. Once you have all the cool shit, there's nothing to do with it.
Maybe it'll get its expansion soonish- there's one more big settlement/town still to be revealed, Khaenri'ah.

So am I to assume you're not gonna play anymore?

Ah, yes, all the missions that ultimately amount to sidequests. And don't get me wrong, this is a problem in regular RPGs too, but normally they don't make up as large of a chunk of the available content as they do here.
With a regular RPG its fine that the game ends, but this isn't a regular RPG, its a game designed to keep you coming back, and it does a really poor job at incentivising you to do so. The game has been out for almost a month, and there's not even been a real event yet. They announced there would be six fucking weeks between new content. In most gacha game two consecutive weeks between content is considered too long. And yeah, I get you too, when you first start out it feels like there's a lot to do, but the charm quickly wears off and you lose the motivation to even continue the story you have left. The game is so large yet after a while it just feels so empty.
>So am I to assume you're not gonna play anymore?
Like I said before, I will keep going until I hit pity on Klee, if I get her I'll try to keep playing, if I don't I'm dropping it. I might consider continuing if I get Qiqi instead, but fuck Jean, fuck Diluc, fuck Mona, and when she's my only 5* a dupe Keqing isn't exactly desirable either.

This doesn't really seem like a normal gacha though... I do feel bad for the people that have been playing it since early September, I could see burn out setting in already if they no-life it daily, and run outa shit to do.
What's going to piss me off is that I WILL drag the game out slowly, and not even on purpose, and I'm bound to- as I always do -miss a lot of time-gated stuff because of it.

So like 5 hours from now?

>>55206
Well, this is another failing of RPGs, ain't it? When I tried the FFXIV trial, guess what every goddamn early game quest was-
Boring fetch quests.
There's not a lot of getting around that, if you want big story driven quests, you're only going to get a handful of them.
Go to X, and collect 20 squirrel testicles... you can have like a hundred of those.

Its still designed as a gacha game. You can look at it one of two ways, the gacha/mobage aspects of it are holding it back from being a real game, or the attempts at making it into a "real game" BotW clone to appeal to normalfags are holding it back from being played as casually as most people play gacha games. Neither are good. I mean yeah, I'm dragging out the game slowly too, although thats partly because I've just kinda lost interest and am only really doing dailies at this point.
Yeah.

Like I said, it is a problem with a lot other RPGs. Although, in most of them they are sidequests, as in skippable. Sure, you can ignore them in this game too, but you'll be missing out on important materials, primogems, etc, and even if you don't care about that you're eventually going to be left at a point where thats all there is left to do in the game because unlike a regular RPG this game doesn't end.
FFXIV is an MMORPG, and I can't really speak for them, but that sounds like something they would do.

FE Three Houses but Nintendo didn't for KT to rush it out so they had more time to polish it, and improve the Church and Edelgard routes. Also remove all the shipper nonsense so all of the characters are only in love with Byleth, and maybe make the dating sim aspects a bit more in depth to go along with that. Also make Marianne's post-time skip design not shit.

I guess. SRPGs are probably my favorite genre, and when Three Houses came out I was pretty surprised because in a lot of ways it was pretty close to the "ideal RPG" I had in my head, but it also had a lot of problems so it couldn't quite live up to that. Although like I said, I'm almost certain Nintendo forced them to rush it out, because there are parts of the game that just feel incomplete in comparison to others. And if it really was rushed out, a lot of my problems probably would've been solved by it having gotten more development time.

The scene felt too on the nose for me, and everyone else was more like "wow Kanto seems cool" but he's all like "I have to get to Kanto."
Also speaking of on the nose, the whole "SOME EXECUTIONERS ARE REALLY GOOD AT INFILTRATION" line felt like pretty heavy handed foreshadowing too.

Yeah, I like them.
Eh, really could be anyone. Swindler is well, Swindler, I wouldn't be surprised if she's tricking even the viewers, although I don't think her being an executioner is the twist. Courier's the male lead so I could see his character arc being that he's actually an executioner but becomes fond of our lovable band of crooks. Serial Killer is really gungho about the whole thing, so I could see him being a double agent too, but it also just fits his personality so I dunno. Don't really have much to go on the others either, other than I don't think its Brawler because if him being dumb is all an act, thats a 300 IQ play.

I could see it being Hacker most.
He could be the double agent selling them all out to get to Kanto.
It would be a real hard sell for me to see Swinder as the double agent, because the anime gave us too much background on her in the beginning, and how she just bumps into Courier- but then that same argument could be used to dispel any notion that she's actually a Swindler too.
So my money is still on HackerMan. For now.

Or maybe it's the fucking cat and they're all being played.

That's fair.
Honestly for those reasons I kinda hope there isn't some kinda twist with Swindler, and its simply she becomes the real Swindler as the story progresses, which is already kinda happening.
The only ones I'd be really surprised if it is are Brawler, and also Doc because if its her it would require the executioners nearly decapitating one of their own as being part of their plan. Or maybe that whole line was just a red herring and we're being swindled.
A cat, the best executioner. No one sees it coming.

and it shall not be infringed

meaning frivious laws shouldnt be a thing involving firearms

and i speak of firearms because thats the hot topic

>>55347
It is not infringed, you can still go to wally world and buy a knife. That is the ability to get an arm, it does not say that you should have the ability to have the specific arm that you want.

I DO NOT believe that all guns should be banned, but I think the position that there should be NO regulation at all is just as silly.

My point is that they left it up to interpretation. My point is that they did take that evolution into account by leaving the amendment vague. Your interpretation is not blatantly wrong, I have not said that it is. I don't agree with it, but when something is left that vague, you can't just completely discount everyone who disagrees with you.

>>55350
That is true, but there is a level of acceptable risk. What you believe to be acceptable risk and what I believe to be acceptable risk are two different things. If I got a few people together with knives, I could maybe get a dozen or two people before we all are stopped in ideal conditions. If I were to go with decent firearms, we could I could kill 137 people in a concert. If I had a couple people with tanks, we could demolish that building and kill just about everyone inside it.

If you think making it easier to do that last part is ok, then that's fine, but you also have to understand that not everyone is going to agree with you and that level of acceptable risk is going to differ from person to person.

>>55352
Like I said, it doesn't say that you should be able to get whichever arm you want.

See the top about being vague.

the constitution however was written as vague, that is true, you're not wrong

Well, one interpretation has to be deemed wrong because only one can be the law. If the founding father were truly concerned about civilians having their hands on deadlier weaponry, I most certainly think they would have been more specific, considering they wrote this document in the midst of a war that was one of the deadliest and most brutal in history, specifically as a result of the constant evolution of weaponry.

>>55358
But the wording is vague and times change. I totally understand your position and we're not going to agree, but I hope you at least understand where I am coming from also. People who are against absolutely any regulation are in the significant minority in the US and the way that you will let the leftists run down the slippery slope is by not working with them at all.

>>55360
You can think that, but I am not obliged to agree. Regulations like requirements for background checks have not been outright ruled to be unconstitutional or it would be impossible to have the law stand.

The way I see it, if the founding fathers wanted everyone to have access to all weapons as a right, they would have said that specifically. Especially since they wrote the document in the midst of a war that was one of the deadliest and most brutal in history. Maybe a way of preventing wars that brutal and deadly is to keep those more deadly weapons out of the hands of literally everyone; which was definitely a theory they would have known about back then.
