Also, I've had my suspicions of endofunctor as a person, since about a couple weeks after he signed up for mod. This is just a gut feeling I had and is obviously a very hot take but the fact that he has spoken so little as mod and what little he did reminded me a ton of hakase's generic "professional" tone and writing style made me a bit uncomfortable. And even to this day I still find it hard to call endofunctor an actual "human" that I know of with how little he's revealed about his personal life, interests or idiosyncrasies that I could ascribe to every other user on nanochan, but I chalked this up to him being really good at keeping anonymity. If you asked me what endofunctor liked or something interesting about him I could tell you nothing, unlike with the other personas on nanochan, even the most mundane ones.
Also, the database locked error was a little weird to me (though I never attached any malice to it), because it shouldn't have happened if he set up the server environment exactly as I described in the text file. So either the source.lua file is unlinked from /Nano and he did some secret code changes, or he fucked with the lighttpd configs somehow. Also asukafag has mentioned his idea of switching nanochan over to C (sakamoto) before, but failed for "reasons"; he might've used his old code to create a more convincing story for his self takeover. But that's enough speculation from me. That "VPS" is suspicious too, but I don't have anything interesting to say about it. Of course, I could've easily known if I paid more attention to his active hours and modding patterns but I was never actually suspicious of him, but this has always been just something swirling in my subconscious, a joke I'd make to myself at most, I've never actively doubted the identity of my moderators even once, at least until the hakasuka reveal.
So yeah, I've had my doubts about endofunctor as an identity and person all the way up to the handover (even when I gave my compliments to him still I had the urge to call him out but decided against crossing someone who holds the fate to the future of nanochan), and basically, I'm of the opinion that endofunctor is actually asukafag. It was always that 0.1% chance that gnawed at my mind for quite some time and, sort of like with hakasukafag, it feels quite cathartic to be able to say this with relative confidence. I sitll have faith that endofunctor will soon return, but I guess nanons should keep in mind this increasingly real possibility. That's all from me, I'm kind of tired of playing the solitary "hero" for nanochan by now, so I think I'll pass on the rehosting. Sorry. I'd rather make my own imageboard than deal with any more of this autism. I swear to god if this turns out to be true, asuka turning out to be hakase was already damaging enough for me. Umaru or nyanon can both put a request in this thread and I'll send over the old tor keys using your old mod pubkeys. thank you for reading my blog
Also, not sure how endo did it but secrets.db-journal is could potentially be publicly readable if not properly configured. Not sure how it is on the current nanochan though with how the C portion of the webserver is set up right now
