Resident Evil 4 was an Osiris, Isis, and Horus ritual. It takes place over the course of one night, so that you symbolically get your victory over death in the morning(Horus). It begins as an Osiris ritual until you get to the Isis horned priests. The end has you driving away into the horizon, an allusion to Horus. When Ashley asks to fuck, Leon says no because at this point he is Horus, and she is Isis. It's an inside joke.

All the resident evil games are packed with checkerboard floors. Almost all the plants in the RE2 demo were palms. The green herb looked like an acacia. The descent into the underground, and emergence to the surface is very reminiscent of mystery school rituals.
