This anon has the correct idea. Being able to contribute isn't available for everyone up front, but this isn't to say one shouldn't do so if they have the ability. This is to say they should conform to the guidlines we've installed to ensure newfags don't fall for shill tactics, like tugging anon's ego. I'm literally trying to show you all how this is done by forcing this down your throats. One day, after you've been in these places long enough, you'll all see what I mean.

People like you are the reason we make efforts to adjust newfags' egos. Please, you will not find success in places like this without first abandoning your ego. There is a process here that's been taking place without you for a long time. You are an addition to this place, a guest. We ask that you simply respect our house like you would any other host.
We tell you to lurk moar for good reason. It isn't to make you feel bad or unimportant, it's so that you watch and learn - so that you understand shills and how they operate, so you understand the fundamentals of what makes certain information stand out to us, so you understand why we react the way we do to new people and shills alike.
Again, as in the analogy I made with bootcamp for MIL, you must go through the preliminary processes in order to emerge a warrior who fights for the right cause. Without the knowledge you gain from lurking for reasonable time, you will be incapable of participating to your fullest ability.
Again, this advice isn't meant to be insulting, it's to help this entire operation run smoother. When our enemies come here and see us bickering with new people over whether or not they should learn how to contribute before doing so, they laugh at us and they don't take us as seriously. This is partially by design and why we let you find us in these places, but I personally suspect that if anons had their way, we'd be left in peace to refine what we know and then show the world. Unfortunately, this is out of our hands at this point and more than one party now has a say in whole all comes here or not.
