I don't know if this means anything but about 30 or 35 years ago I heard this weird philosophy?? or saying from two muslims from Jordan...it went like this in their broken English:

"Life is like a cucumber, one in your hand and ten in the salad"...

After they shared this with me they laughed hysterically, I had no idea what they were talking about..but the cucumber reference lit a fire in my memory bank...
