In summary, long-term exposure to HTO might cause the senescence of vascular endothelial cells, decrease their permeability,
alter their adhesion properties, and reduce their capacity to maintain vascular homeostasis, and might be mediated by
IL8. We clarified that HTO is toxic to vascular endothelial cells and showed that IL8 could have important theoretical and
applications as a novel protective target.
