Yeah that's typical.
imo laser cutting is the way to go for smaller parts (like what you would make with a machine as small as the arcdroid). With plasma the cutting kerf is big and harder to control. It can also get tricky when cutting thick material and will sometimes cut at an angle if the tip isn't properly clean.
