I don't really know what "soul" is because I'm a robot, but I think you would like the eastern 1/3 of the country. That's where the older and bettre looking buildings are. Almost everything west is built post-war (it's shit).
I know that corporate place looks like shit but part of me likes it because there's nobody there. I was in one of those corporate zones once and went into a giant sporting goods store with two whole floors and there was only like 10 other people in it. It was very nice to not have to wade through a bunch of browns with their kids running everywhere.
