Not really, they tried to do a new thing with it. Focus more on the android element and on the "belters" of that universe, showing how people who aren't soldiers nor scientists would handle the situation, have different motivations and such. It was done quite well, they come up with unexpected solutions for the situations and such. Feels a bit like a mix of the Lost in Space show with Alien. Its "younger", but its younger characters "actually in the Alien scenario". Which is interesting on its own.

Which is why it was better than expected. But its not the "dream" Alien sequel I would like.
