It's mostly graffix, updating older engine grapffix to current tech basically requires doing it over and requires very skilled people to do it.

Its also unique in being an engine you can pretty much make an AAA game without programming a large part of the tech yourself. And you can just deploy on all platforms, even switch.
Even with Godot you need some serious programming to port to all of the platforms. They use different graphic libraries.

Your options are:
>millionaire contract to use closed engine from another studio
>take 4x as long to develop your own and achieve perfection
>disregard graffix so much, use other less complete engines or make your own, still take 2x more time to achieve these compromised results (due to porting)
>use UE5 and have less optimized product twice as fast
