Found out what a "center power take off" means to Porsche. It's a gear drive that comes off the center of the long crankshaft and puts the engine's power through an offset shaft. Done in an effort to reduce torsional stress and vibration. With that, the power of the front cylinder won't have to be transmitted through the entire length of a long shaft, only through half of it, allowing the crankshaft to not have to be as strong/heavy. Bretty neat.
