I think the morale of this story is that Emperor Gaz didn't care about the things he created. He didn't love his tools. If you create a doll, it's not "just a doll", it's an artwork.

The energy harvesting scheme also has the same flaw as what we saw here on wild earth: they're cutting down the tree and burning it instead of tending to it carefully and harvesting the fruit. It's an idiotic way of approaching it. This is something Yuuka can teach us more about. We can slaughter animals and eat them, but animals don't give fruits. Same with grains, where we eat the seeds. But for those plants that do give fruit, save the trees and harvest only the fruits. What took place was a result of ignoring this difference.

It's the same morale as that of the man with the hen laying golden eggs, he got impatient and killed the hen, then he got nothing.
