Turns out people with dyslexia who use logogram-based languages have different brain anomalies to their Western counterparts. Dyslexia in Chinese is associated with parts of the brain that are crucial for visual perception, spatial relations, and cognitive skills, rather than parts that support letter-to-sound conversion, as is the case for alphabetic language speakers with dyslexia.
Western culture is not only prone to falling faster into oblivion but it also teaches one's brain to work in more machine-like ways (linear transformation) while logographic writing systems are more "right brained" (whole to parts, fractal processing).

Very accurate. And it's not only the spirits. Another spell caster might come along and get a hold of the energetic pattern behind a kanji the meaning of which they don't know. Not so easily with a romanic written word. That is, unless special calligraphy or typographic design is used. But at that point you're kind of cheating because the pattern is encoded separately from the meaning of the word. This also makes deceitful usage of written language (and in logos) easier.
It seems as if Western (Roman-derived) civilization was purposely designed to produce unempowered, magically impotent slaves from the get-go.
