It must be a case of internal references. I went to art school for two years drawing and painting with nude model every week. We had a male 50 y/o for drawing and female ~22 for painting. I just feel like I have that guy's leg shapes burned into my memory for ever and it's just my perception that having "shapes" at all is more of a male thing, female legs are very shapeless and straight lines.
