From an actual liberal standpoint this is true and this should be the norm. For some mysterious reason this is not how things work. The EU-Ukraine-Russia love trade triangle - which could have prevented the war - was doomed, and I have to say chiefly for EU's shortsightedness if it was a premeditated or just incompetence I dunno.
