Some kind of image comes to mind, I don't know if I'm channelling this or if it's something from anime, maybe a combination: Someone struggles through their life, end up hating persons around them, and cursing the God who arranged all of this. Then as they finish their life's path, their god appears to them and they are shown the reasons for their life being like that. It then turns out all the things that caused all the trouble, all the things the person hated, were things he asked for before being incarnated. He just had no idea that all of these things would end up being so troublesome.
