Good point but you need to say so. I would have allowed it because you technically didn't start. However in this case, your roll was a 1 and the goblins got 10, you had no chance.
Aid is a great choice, when you actually can cast it. You are level 2 aren't you? I know it's confusing but you don't get access to tier 2 magic until level 3.
