Ukraine War Plans Leak Prompts Pentagon Investigation

Classified documents detailing secret American and NATO plans have appeared on Twitter and Telegram.

WASHINGTON — Classified war documents detailing secret American and NATO plans for building up the Ukrainian military ahead of a planned offensive against Russia were posted this week on social media channels, senior Biden administration officials said.

The Pentagon is investigating who may have been behind the leak of the documents, which appeared on Twitter and on Telegram, a platform with more than half a billion users that is widely available in Russia.

Military analysts said the documents appear to have been modified in certain parts from their original format, overstating American estimates of Ukrainian war dead and understating estimates of Russian troops killed.

The modifications could point to an effort of disinformation by Moscow, the analysts said. But the disclosures in the original documents, which appear as photographs of charts of anticipated weapons deliveries, troop and battalion strengths, and plans, represents a significant breach of American intelligence in the effort to aid Ukraine.

Biden officials were working to get them deleted but had not, as of Thursday evening, succeeded.

“We are aware of the reports of social media posts and the department is reviewing the matter,” said Sabrina Singh, the deputy press secretary at the Pentagon.

The documents are 5 weeks old so they don’t reveal the most current plans — but they are still full of valuable information for Russia. They’ve also, as emphasized above, likely been edited by parties unknown to spread disinformation.

This is a major coup for Russian intelligence efforts, although it is not yet known exactly where or by who the documents were obtained. (It’s doubtless also giving the tankies a warm fuzzy.)

This is going to complicate US-Ukraine cooperation. It’s only been in recent months that Ukraine has been willing to share information.

But early on during the war, Ukrainian officials were hesitant about sharing their battle plans with the United States, for fear of leaks, American and European officials said. As recently as last summer, American intelligence officials said they often had a better understanding of Russia’s military plans than of Ukraine’s.

That it also gives us in the general public a glimpse of what is going on is perhaps a plus. Time will tell, but this is not good news and there will likely be further developments.

Linda Rantz is proof that one person can and does make a difference.

In 2021, Rantz moved with her husband from a solidly blue state to Missouri. The couple immediately became involved, volunteering in their new state, hoping to find a way to fix our broken elections after the 2020 election.

After spending a great deal of time canvassing in her state, the passionate activist and Osage County resident quickly began working to build relationships with local clerks in her state.

“I kept hearing Mike Lindell saying, ‘We gotta get rid of the machines! We gotta get rid of the machines!” Linda said as she explained that she was “all for getting rid of the machines,” but wondered, “replace it with what?? Rantz became determined to find a solution to the problem of replacing the voting machines. She began delving into election law and discovered a statute in Missouri election law that states individual counties have the right to make their own decisions about how they tally votes. She and her husband traveled to Louisiana after hearing about an effective system they created for hand-counting votes. They were so impressed with what they witnessed in Louisiana that she brought the details about the program to the clerk in Osage County, who agreed to replace the voting machines with the hand-counting system.

On April 4, 2023, in Osage County, MO, residents were introduced to the new hand-count system in a statewide election. Instead of watching their ballots being inserted into a machine that many voters distrust, they instead dropped their ballots into a secure ballot box and trusted the teams of Democrats and Republicans who volunteered to count their ballots, in the open, at the same facility where they voted.

After doing some digging, Linda discovered that Osage wasn’t the first county in Missouri to implement a hand count for elections. According to Rantz, a clerk in Worth County, MO, has been utilizing a hand count system in her small county for the past ten years. The Worth County Clerk explained to Rantz that the citizens in her district “hated” the antiquated machines they were using to vote and wanted to get rid of them, and that’s when she decided to move to a hand count.

Missouri isn’t the only state taking action to get rid of voting machines in their state. In addition to Lousiana, a quorum in Cleburne County, AK, also made the decision to return to the old-fashioned way of counting ballots after it was determined that voters no longer trust the voting machines that tally their votes.

Officials with the Arkansas Voter Integrity Initiative Inc. (AVII) said the vote was in response to AVII CEO Colonel Conrad Reynolds’ push for election computers to be removed from Arkansas elections.

“The machines do not read the names on the ballots; instead, they scan barcodes, which humans cannot read,” Reynolds said. “They also utilize proprietary software that we are not allowed to examine. This all means voters cannot verify that their vote is being counted properly as mandated by state law.”

Last week, the Gateway Pundit reported that in January, the County Supervisors in Shasta County, CA, also voted to get rid of Dominion voting systems in their elections! Their vote sent shockwaves through the state.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed former Manhattan DA prosecutor and Hillary Clinton lawyer, Mark Pomerantz for a deposition.

Mark Pomerantz, a former senior prosecutor on the Manhattan DA’s team investigating Trump resigned in protest after District Attorney Alvin Bragg ended the investigation.

He then went on to write a book on the topic.

In the book, he claims the investigation “developed evidence convincing us that Donald Trump had committed serious crimes.”

Jim Jordan summoned Mark Pomerantz for a closed-door deposition on April 20, according to the subpoena reviewed by this reporter.

“Based on your unique role as a special assistant district attorney leading the investigation into President Trump’s finances, you are uniquely situated to provide information that is relevant and necessary to inform the Committee’s oversight and potential legislative reforms. Although the New York County District Attorney’s Office has directed you not to cooperate with our oversight, you have already discussed many of the topics relevant to our oversight in a book you wrote and published in February 2023, as well as in several public interviews to promote your book.” Jordan wrote.

“As a result, you have no basis to decline to testify about matters before the Committee that you have already discussed in your book and/or on a prime-time television program with an audience in the millions, including on the basis of any purported duty of confidentiality or privilege interest,” Jordan said.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg on Thursday fired back at Jim Jordan.

“The House GOP continues to attempt to undermine an active investigation and ongoing New York criminal case with an unprecedented campaign of harassment and intimidation. Repeated efforts to weaken state and local law enforcement actions are an abuse of power and will not deter us from our duty to uphold the law,” Bragg’s office said.

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) are investigating a Farmington Police Department officer-involved shooting. The shooting happened on Wednesday night, officials reported.

NMSP stated the Farmington PD responded to a domestic violence call Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m. The address they were supposed to respond to was 5308 Valley View Avenue. However, police accidentally showed up at 5305 Valley View Avenue.
Police announced their presence, but there was no answer, so they asked dispatch to tell the caller to come to the front door. The homeowner, Robert Dotson, 52, allegedly came to the front door with a handgun. An officer, possibly more than one as it’s yet to be determined, fired at least one shot at Dotson.
Authorities claimed Dotson’s wife, also armed, fired from the doorway of the home. Officers fired back in response. At that time, she reportedly noticed the people outside were cops, so she put the gun down and complied.
