The SF Gate report says that nutria can produce up to 200 offspring annually and consume up to 25% of their body weight daily, but destroy up to 10 times more, threatening endangered species and native plants. They also carry diseases like tuberculosis, septicemia, and parasites that can infect humans, pets, and livestock.
Since their first sighting in Merced County in 2017, over 5,000 nutria have been killed in California. Their spread into the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta prompted officials to ramp up control efforts to protect the ecosystem.

Bank of America customers on Wednesday reported having problems accessing their bank accounts or that their account balances currently show $0.
The outage started at around 12:30 p.m. E.T. on Wednesday, according to the tracking website Downdetector.
The Epoch Times' Jack Phillips reports that numerous Bank of America users have posted screenshots of empty account balances on social media. An Epoch Times staff member also reported not being able to log in to their Bank of America account.
Some users on social media stated that Bank of America had not yet alerted them to the issue. It’s not clear how many customers were impacted or when the problem will be resolved.
As union dockworkers began striking against employers at East and Gulf Coast ports early Tuesday morning, reports of panic-buying at supermarkets almost immediately started spreading across social media.

UPDATE: US Port Workers Agree To End Strike After Accepting 62% Wage Increase
Late on Thursday, 45,000 striking dockworkers at US East and Gulf coast ports agreed to return to work after port operators sweetened their contract offer, ending a three-day strike that threatened to disrupt the American economy.
The International Longshoremen’s Association and port operators, in a joint statement, said they had reached a tentative agreement on wages and union members would return to work. They said the agreement would extend the prior contract, which expired at the start of this week, through Jan. 15, 2025 while the two sides negotiate on other issues, including automation on the docks.
The breakthrough came after port employers offered a 62% increase in wages over six years, the WSJ reported citing people familiar with the matter. The new offer, up from an earlier proposed raise of 50%, came after the White House privately and publicly pressed the large shipping lines and cargo terminal operators who employ the longshore workers to make a new offer to the union.
The agreement ends a strike that had closed container ports from Maine to Texas and threatened to disrupt everything from the supply of bananas in supermarkets to the flow of cars through America’s factories, and cost the US economy billions each day in lost commerce.
The latest offer would raise the base hourly rate for ILA port workers to $63 from $39 over six years. One of the people said the offer is being made on the condition that dockworkers go back to work and agree to efficiency gains.
The offer is less than the union demand for an increase of 77% over the term of the contract but a far larger increase than most major labor contracts, including a contract reached last year covering the separate union representing West Coast longshore workers. Many U.S. dockworkers currently earn more than a $100,000 a year, with baseline hourly wages boosted by work rules and overtime requirements.
The strike came about five weeks from a presidential election where both main candidates are wooing working-class union voters. Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have voiced support for the workers, stressing that the carriers are mostly foreign-owned.

Habib said the US and France told Lebanon that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also agreed to the ceasefire proposal.
“They told us that Mr. Netanyahu agreed on this, and so we also got the agreement of Hezbollah on that. And, you know what happened since then,” Habib told CNN host Christiane Amanpour.

On September 25, the US, France, and several other nations released a joint statement calling for an immediate 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon to give time to reach a diplomatic solution to the situation on the Israel-Lebanon border and reach a ceasefire in Gaza. The following day, Netanyahu arrived in New York for the UN General Assembly and rejected rumors that Israel agreed to the truce.
US officials told the media that they coordinated the ceasefire proposal with Israel and were “frustrated” with Netanyahu for rejecting it. You have to log in, go to your board, go to your front page, scroll all the way down to the post on your board that's breaking the rule, then you have to click Manage Thread and after all is said and done. You have to fill out a captcha to ban the post, then you have to FILL OUT ANOTHER CAPTCHA TO DELETE THE POST!! To make matters even worse, the spam has been getting worse lately. So, it gets really frustrating to delete multiple spam threads on your board. On top of all this, there are errors when you go to delete a thread the first time. So, it takes twice as long as it normally should to delete threads. So, if it's not too much of me to ask....Can you please streamline the actions that the BO/mods have to take in order to delete posts? Like, can you make it so that you can ban&delete specific posts instead of clicking the checkbox of the post and then scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page, fill out a captcha to delete a post? Is it possible for the BO/volunteer to stay logged in longer than thirty seconds so that way you can ban and then delete a specified post? Finally, when you click the manage thread button, does it have to take you to the dashboard? It's really clunky and time consuming to go back your board front page, find the post and then delete it. Bidenomics Wrecks Economy As Port Industry On Verge Of Massive Strike, Shut Downs
A major maritime workers strike is set to begin on Tuesday, and it means a likely HALT of imports and exports of key goods — from cars to food — across the East and Gulf Coasts.
The International Longshoremen's Association, the largest union of maritime workers in the US, announced last week that it was prepared to strike on October 1 if demands in their union contract, primarily higher wages, are not met. On Sunday, the union announced the strike is set to go ahead as planned after contract negotiations stalled.
"United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) refuses to address a half-century of wage subjugation where Ocean Carriers profits skyrocketed from millions to mega-billion dollars, while ILA longshore wages remained flat," the union said in a statement posted to Facebook. "ILA unity remains strong and is growing."
The planned strike would include 85,000 members of the International Longshoremen's Association, as well as "tens of thousands of dockworkers and maritime workers around the world," the union's statement added, striking at all Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports from Maine to Texas.
According to an ILA press release, the union wrote in a letter to its membership that its workers, who primarily work on shipping docks to load, unload, and inspect cargo and operate heavy machinery, are "struggling to pay their mortgages and rent, car payments, groceries, utility bills, taxes, and in some cases, their children's education," emphasizing the need for boosted pay in its upcoming contract.
The strike, if it takes place, will have widespread implications across the US, with significant shipment delays that could set off a chain reaction of disruptions. It would be the first coast-wide strike by ILA members since 1977, Reuters reported.
"A prolonged strike could lead to weeks, or possibly months, of shipping delays and backlogs, worsened by limited rerouting options, high costs and time constraints," Abe Eshkenazi, CEO of the Association for Supply Chain Management, told BI. "The supply chain is inextricably linked, and as we enter the busiest shopping season of the year, businesses, retailers, and consumers alike will feel the impact of a stoppage."
According to the National Association of Manufacturers, over half of imports and exports come through the East and Gulf Coast ports, handling pharmaceuticals, vehicles, and retail, among other things, and generating an average of over $2.1 billion each day. The union and the US Maritime Alliance (USMX), which represents port employers, are at an impasse over wages in a new contract. As of Sunday, talks between the ILA and USMX appeared to be at a standstill, with each issuing statements about the impasse.
With fifty percent of all imported goods coming-in to the country via the ports going on strike, the Supply Chain is going to take a big hit, and very fast.
So it is now imperative that you purchase the things you need, NOW, because once the strike begins, what's on the store shelves is pretty-much it. When it sells out, there won't be replacement product coming in.
You've got four days before the strike begins, a few days after that until store shelves see an impact.
Remember: we don't warehouse much of anything in this country anymore, we utilize "Just-in-Time" inventory control systems. It costs a LOT of money to buy product just to store it. So companies don't do that anymore. They know how much they sell, generally how fast they sell it, and they place orders for re-supply based on that known schedule. There isn't anywhere near 3 months excess inventory stored here, so things will begin to run out, fast.

Politically Persecuted FBI Agent Urges Americans To Arm Themselves, Stock Up On Food, Prepare For Hardship
A former FBI specialist who was politically persecuted for questioning January 6 lies said during a hearing with lawmakers on Capitol Hill that Americans should stock up on food and prepare for hardship.
Marcus Allen, a former FBI staff operations specialist, told the Judiciary Subcommittee on Weaponization of the Federal Government that he was deliberately targeted by corrupt higher ups for asking why there were so many federal informants in the crowd at the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
“The FBI questioned my allegiance to the United States, suspended my security clearance, suspended my pay and refused to allow me to obtain outside employment or even accept charity,” Allen testified
The brownshirts came down hard on Allen after he sent an email on September 21st, 2021 which his supervisors claimed contained hyperlinks to “extremist propaganda” from “questionable sources”.

The "Environmental Protection" Agency Is Deliberately Poisoning American Consumers
A group of government scientists say they were pressured by management at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to present new chemicals they were investigating as being safer than they actually were.
When they failed to delete evidence of the serious dangers associated with the chemicals, their managers did it themselves.
The scientists claim that after pushing back, they were hit with negative performance reviews, while some lost their positions in the new chemical division and were reassigned to other parts in the agency.
Last week, the Inspector General of the EPA announced their finding that three of the scientists’ treatment can be considered retaliation, confirming that their negative reviews and reassignments were retaliatory. They also concluded that the scientists being denied a work-related incentive that can be used to take time off or traded for cash was retaliatory as well.
The report instructed the EPA to take “appropriate corrective action” as a result, including a potential three-day minimum suspension for supervisors who violated the Whistleblower Protection Act.
In response to the report, EPA assistant administrator Michael Freedhoff sent a letter to the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention explaining that all managers would be undergoing “refresher training” on the Whistleblower Protection Act as well as scientific integrity in general and that their office would be reviewing the reports to see if additional action is needed.
Further reports are expected to be released about the scientific allegations made by the whistleblowers.
The three whistleblowers in question – Sarah Gallagher, William Irwin and Martin Phillips – maintained that the chemicals they were vetting for the agency could cause damages ranging from neurological problems and miscarriages to cancer.

Clay Higgins, R-La, chairman of the subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, didn’t mince words during the hearing, calling the current situation a "self-inflicted border crisis" and a "threat to the homeland from within the homeland."

Venezuelan vs Chicago Gangs: Streets To Be Overwhelmed By Violent Turf Wars
Venezuelan migrants moving into Chicago’s South Side have caught the attention of the city’s gangs, with some fearing an impending turf war between local gangs and their Venezuelan counterparts.
